“When creating this painting, I wanted to capture the freshness and beauty of white lilacs. I chose a simple light vase to keep the focus on the flowers. Using the impasto technique, I applied thick, textured strokes to make the flowers appear almost alive and three-dimensional. The deep blue background wasn’t random – it contrasts with the white blossoms, making them “shine” and adding depth to the work. I aimed to convey my energy and admiration for this fleeting moment of bloom. I hope the viewer feels the play of light on the textured surface and the atmosphere I sought to create”.
